Additional Duties on Imports from China - Effective February 4, 2025

Dear friends and customers,

The purpose of this message is to provide guidance on the additional duties on imports that are the products of China, pursuant to the Executive Order issued on February 1, 2025 (EO). As directed by the EO, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued a Notice in the Federal Register implementing the additional duties.

Effective with respect to goods that are the product of China and Hong Kong entered for consumption, or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption, on or after 12:01 a.m. Eastern Standard Time on February 4, 2025, the following HTSUS classifications and additional duty rates apply:

1. by inserting the following new heading 9903.01.20 in numerical sequence, with the material in the new heading inserted in the columns of the HTSUS labeled “Heading/Subheading”, “Article Description”, “Rates of Duty 1-General”, “Rates of Duty 1-Special” and “Rates of Duty 2”, respectively:

Note, please consider that this 10% is in addition to the duties currently paid under Section 301 and/or regular duties fees on the HTSUS.

Estimados amigos y clientes:

El propósito de este mensaje es brindar orientación sobre los aranceles adicionales sobre las importaciones que son productos de China, de conformidad con la Orden Ejecutiva emitida el 1 de febrero de 2025 (EO). Según lo indicado por la EO, la Oficina de Aduanas y Protección Fronteriza (CBP) de EE. UU. emitió un Aviso en el Registro Federal implementando los derechos adicionales.

A partir de las 12:01 a. m., hora estándar del este, del 4 de febrero de 2025, se aplican las siguientes clasificaciones HTSUS y tasas de derechos adicionales, vigentes con respecto a mercancías que son producto de China y Hong Kong ingresadas para consumo o retiradas del almacén para consumo. :

1. insertando la siguiente nueva partida 9903.01.20 en secuencia numérica, con el material en el nuevo encabezado insertado en las columnas del HTSUS mencionadas como “Heading/Subheading”, “Article Description”, “Rates of Duty 1-General”, “Rates of Duty 1-Special” and “Rates of Duty 2”, respectivamente:

Nota, favor de considerar que este 10% es adicional a los impuestos que actualmente se pagan bajo Sección 301 y/o impuestos gravados en la tarifa.
