Commercial Port Closures

Apr 2, 2019 | 0 comments

Dear Friends and Customers,

Our Office has received several inquiries from the trade about information that has been on several news, about the possibility of closing all ports of entry on the southern border. There is no official notification either from CBP or from any other government agency regarding any programmed port closures for either the commercial, passenger vehicles or pedestrian ports of entry. What we have been informed, is that CBP personnel from all ports of entry are being temporarily transferred to the Texas POE to help with the migration issue and consequently causing additional waiting times at ports of entry.

This past weekend, RL Jones Corporate was informed that CBP does not have any instruction regarding this potential closure. Today during a call with local CBP Calexico we were confirmed once again, that there are still no news regarding this potential closure.

We will keep you informed as soon as more information comes available.

Regards,
