Please find a brief summary of Calexico CBP/SAT Working Group-Binational Meeting held on Thursday, October 13th, 2016.

ACE & Backup System. U.S Customs and Border Protection gave instructions to follow when ACE System is down. After Chief Ortiz’s email has been received confirming system is down, the Broker or Carrier may submit the enclosed letter to calexicocargocarit@cbp.dhs.gov  in the format or use the same content in the body of the email. Each letter may include 10 entries maximum per importer; this includes PGA, FDA and USDA entries. PGA, FDA and USDA shipments will not be able to cross the border. CBP premises close at 8:00 PM, with no hour extension. Customer will decide whether he lines up, remains or goes back to Mexico. CBP premises may hold up to 60 trucks inside.

Crossing times.  In order to avoid long waiting times this season, Chief Ortiz invites the trade to cross between 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Holiday Schedule.  In observance of Christmas, CBP will be closed Monday, December 26^th, 2016 and in New Year’s Eve on January 2^nd, 2017.

CBP Scale. Fernando Martinez introduced himself as the new Commander of CHP Scale.

New Online Application for permits. CBP commented on the new online application for permits, you may pay the permit online and go to Calexico Ports for the interview. Calexico East Port hours are from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM and Central Port is open 24 hrs.

Franchise. Regular franchise for US Residents is currently $300 dlls. and for Mexicali Residents is $150dlls. The “Paisano Program” will start in the middle of November, the franchise on this season will be for US Residents $500 dlls. and for Mexicali Residents $300 dlls.
