Dear Friends and Customers,

FDA is sending out emails addressed to Importers reminding them to use their DUNS (Dun and Bradstreet Data Universal Numbering System) as a valid Unique Facility Identifier (UFI) under the Food Safety Verification Program (FSVP).

As a courtesy for FSVP importers who have not yet obtained their DUNS number, FDA is allowing the use of “UNK” for entry filing for a limited time. Once this courtesy period is expired, the FSVP importer’s DUNS number must be transmitted or the entry line will be rejected in the ACE system.

Please provide us the correct DUNS number so that we may transmit accordingly in order to avoid potential delays or rejections by FDA. Attached please find example of letter that is being issued to Importers who have not yet filed under their DUNS#.
